THE JOB 

Provalus is actively hiring entry-level Healthcare Insurance Customer Support Representatives to support claims processing, member inquiries, and customer service activities for health insurance products. No prior healthcare or insurance experience is required — full paid training is provided on claims processes, healthcare terminology, HIPAA compliance, and internal systems. THE JOB 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Learn and apply claims processing procedures, healthcare terminology, and company systems through structured, on-the-job training. 

  • Research claims status, benefits, eligibility, and coverage details using available resources, CRM, and internal claims processing systems. 

  • Handle and resolve member and provider inquiries related to claims processing, billing questions, coverage, and general customer service issues. 

  • Provide members and providers with clear, accurate information regarding plan benefits and claims status. 

  • Process claims-related forms and other member/provider requests accurately and within required timeframes. 

  • Identify and escalate priority or complex issues to senior team members or management as needed. 

  • Route inbound calls to the appropriate internal resources, including claims, billing, or clinical teams. 

  • Follow up on more complicated member calls as needed, with support from senior team members. 

  • Complete accurate call notes and claims documentation, updating records in the CRM and claims processing systems. 

  • Gather and record relevant details from member/provider interactions, including comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken. 

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulations — full training provided. 

  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments (e.g., claims, billing, provider relations) as needed. 

  • Ask questions and seek guidance from trainers, mentors, and team leads as you build your skills. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Role Requirements include: 

  • Must have an HS Diploma or GED. 

  • No prior healthcare, insurance, or claims experience required — comprehensive training provided. 

  • Willingness to learn healthcare terminology, basic medical billing/coding concepts, and insurance claims processes. 

  • Ability to work onsite at the Provalus office. No remote positions are available currently. 

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication. 

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment. 

  • Good computer skills and comfort learning new software/systems; ability to multi-task. 

  • Willingness to learn and follow HIPAA and confidentiality requirements when handling sensitive information. 

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to double-check work for accuracy. 

  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and patient in stressful or fast-paced situations. 

  • Coachable and open to feedback, with a strong desire to grow within the healthcare insurance field.
