Location: Nacogdoches, TX (Stephen F. Austin State University)
Position Overview:
The Meridian Program Coordinator manages on-site operations at one designated university partnership, driving student recruitment, training coordination, intern engagement, and campus relationship management. This role works closely with university stakeholders, students, and the Meridian Program Lead to support a high-quality internship experience that prepares participants for technology careers with Provalus. The ideal candidate is a proactive, community-oriented professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills who is passionate about workforce development in rural communities.
The position includes 3 regions:
- Piney Woods Region: Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, TX), Louisiana Tech University (Ruston, LA), and Grambling State University (Grambling, LA)
- Ozarks Region: Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, OK), North Arkansas College (Harrison, AR), and Arkansas State University (Jonesboro, AR)
- Carolinas Region: East Carolina University (Greenville, NC)
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Outreach: Build awareness of the Meridian Program through career fairs, information sessions, classroom visits, faculty partnerships, and collaboration with university career services and STEM departments.
- Applicant Engagement and Screening: Support the student pipeline by coordinating outreach, guiding prospective applicants through interest and screening steps, and helping identify candidates aligned with Meridian Program internship requirements.
- Training Coordination: Coordinate internship and training logistics, including scheduling, room or virtual session support, communications, attendance tracking, and issue resolution for campus-based cohorts.
- Student Support and Retention: Serve as a local point of contact for interns, helping maintain engagement, resolve barriers to participation, and support successful progression through the Meridian Program experience.
- University Partnership Management: Maintain strong working relationships with university administrators, faculty, and student-facing teams to support program execution and alignment with campus processes.
- Program Operations and Reporting: Track participation, training progress, and placement-related metrics; maintain accurate records; and provide regular updates to program leadership.
- Community Engagement: Represent Provalus and the Meridian Program within the local community and support events or initiatives that strengthen awareness of technology career pathways in rural America.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, IT, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in program coordination, recruitment, or education/training roles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, rural communities).
- Ability to work on-site at the assigned university partnership region and travel as needed for campus events, local outreach, and occasional program meetings.
- Proficiency in digital technologies.
Preferred:
- Experience working with universities or in rural communities.
- Background in IT, cybersecurity, or workforce development programs.
- Connections to the assigned location’s university or community (e.g., alumni, local resident).
- Prior supervision of interns or entry-level staff.
