Brewton Revitalization Underway

Back in 2017 when we envisioned how our revolutionary concept would impact America, we hoped to ultimately revitalize dormant small towns. We never dreamed our vision would be realized so quickly. In four short years, Provalus has infused this rural community of Brewton Alabama with new life. Not only have we created a new technology workforce by upskilling hundreds of folks, we have also stimulated this rural economy enough to support several new businesses, attract a national pizza chain and help fuel the funding for a municipal water project. In addition to welcoming the Papa Johns pizza chain into town, the community has also experienced a surge of newly formed locally-owned business. Mark and Brianna Cole chose to open their coffee shop Shuga Beanz in Brewton. The third of its kind, the specialty coffee shop boasts a menu of flavor-infused energy drinks. Coffee/espresso, smoothies, super teas and their famous daily handmade whipped cream. They commented, “We are VERY excited to create a fun, relaxing environment for all to enjoy and hangout. We are thrilled to be a part of the revitalization process that Brewton is going through.”


Marcello Alcantar’s infectious passion for Martial Arts is captivating the community. He just opened a wrestling and jui jitzu facility in town. Sugar Willies sandwich shop and Aunt Elsie’s Ice Cream Shop, a tattoo parlor and a nail salon are also among the new entrepreneurial establishments recently open. Just this summer, Mayor Lovelace coordinated the opening of a new community pool as well. The Mayor commented, “This is the first time in a number of years that we’ve had a public pool.”


The job creation initiative of Provalus has spawned a new economic era for the community. It’s given the city the ability to make investments in infrastructure which has galvanized new business growth and will continue to fuel the revitalization of this southern town once labeled one of the “100 Best Small Towns in America”.
