Provalus Gives Back to the Community Through a Virtual STEM Event
December 10, 2020

A sincere thank you to our client partners and to GOOGLE for helping make our Provalus virtual STEM event a success. This weekend, the Brewton community and several Provalus employees volunteered their time Saturday to host an educational event for community children ages k-12. This was an exceptional opportunity to help foster and develop the next waive of growing IT talent in small town America.

Will Ruzic, General Manager of Provalus commented, “I am extremely proud of our volunteer group and their commitment to the Provalus mission of transforming the rural communities we call home. Along with partnerships in the community, this type of innovative outreach is only possible because of the tremendous support from each of our client partners. This is proof that even hiring a small team in Brewton can have an exponential impact to the entire community and region.”

The primary goal of the Provalus STEM events are to open children’s minds to the possibilities of technology and create a curiosity to learn more as they pursue their education. Events like this are critical to helping the next generation gain exposure to the rapidly advancing tools and technology in the space. It’s also an opportunity to for them to understand what it means to have a career in technology.

“All of this is possible because of the tremendous client partnerships that we have, creating a highly engaged rural workforce from a client-facing perspective and within the community”, commented Laura Chevalier, President of Provalus.

The students experienced GOOGLE’s tool “Grasshopper” while also hearing directly from Google representative Heather Smith. Heather was able to share her experience working for such a progressive corporation and further reinforce the mindset that technology careers are an opportunity for everyone regardless of background, gender or race.
